My name is Wendy McCarry, I am the Head of Middle Years Maths at a grammar school in Melbourne, Australia. I've decided to pilot Flipped Learning with the middle years maths classes after reading about the success of the method in schools around the world.
I am originally from Canada, and did my Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education at Brock University in St. Catherines, Ontario. After university I moved to London, England and taught mathematics at secondary level in inner city comprehensives for 7 years. I also started my M.A. in Education part-time at London South Bank University, and am due to complete that in September 2013.
My husband and I moved to Melbourne in January 2013. I was lucky enough to work in a school where the senior leadership team are very supportive of innovation and are encouraging of the Flipped Learning pilot. I am really excited about trying a new teaching method and can't wait to get started!
